In 2023, Jena Robinson enters her fifth season as Marian’s head competitive cheer coach.
Jena Robinson was hired as Head Cheerleading Coach at Marian University in January of 2019. She then reestablished Marian’s competitive cheer program in 2020 and transitions to competitive coach only.
"God has blessed me with another amazing opportunity, and I am beyond excited to join the Marian family," said Robinson. "Cheerleading, in general, is something I've always had a passion for, and coaching at a collegiate level has always been a dream of mine. I look forward to getting to know my team and helping each one of them grow in their relationship with Christ and being successful on the mats, in the classroom, and in life. I can't wait to start building an amazing cheer program at Marian University."
In her third season 2022-2023, Robinson continued to find success as the team set new records and she earned Crossroads League Coach of the Year. Robinson was also voted to sit on the NAIA-CCCA Executive Committee as 1st Vice President and will take over as President in 2023-2024. Knights finished the season ranked 19th nationally and second in the Crossroads League. Throughout the season Marian gained one NAIA Scholar Athlete, Kaitlyn Pierce, and six Crossroads League honorees Aubrey Fain, Jaida Young, earning first team and Makayla Byer, Kaitlyn Pierce, Chloe Ray earning second team.
In her second season 2021-2022, Marian finished the season ranked 14th nationally and second in the Crossroads League. The knights also had seven Crossroads League honorees, Caroline Martin earning first team and Newcomer of the year, Jadia Young earning first team, Leah Englert, Jenna Mahin, Lauren Knapp, Rachel Dukes earning second team.
In her first season as the head competitive cheer coach 2020-21, Robinson led the Knights to the highest scoring routine in Marian’s history and finished the season nationally ranked at 13th and 2nd in the Crossroads League. Marian had three Crossroads League honorees under Robinson in 2020-21, Rachel Dukes, Lauren Knapp, and Jaida Young earning Second Team.

Before coming to Marian, she served as cheer coach at Greenfield Central High School for four years. While at Greenfield Central, Robinson oversaw choreographing competition routines, working with the athletes to improve their cheerleading skills such as jumps, tumbling motions, and spirit, and created and monitored position-based conditioning to help improve endurance and reduce injuries. Robinson led the girls' team to a 2018 Varsity B Runner up at State and in 2017 Varsity B placed fourth at State. The coed team was named 2016 State Champions and in 2015 placed fourth at State under Robinson's watch.
Prior to Greenfield Central, Robinson spent time as a cheerleading coach at Classic City Center in Waterloo, Indiana, and a student athlete cheered at Trine University in Angola, Indiana.
